TutorNest is an AI-powered tutoring marketplace that connects families with verified, qualified tutors. We serve families across Africa, the UK, the US and internationally.
Is TutorNest free to use?
It's free to create an account, browse tutors and see match recommendations. You only pay when you book a session.
What subjects and curricula do you cover?
We cover Mathematics, English, Sciences, Humanities, Languages and more. We support GCSE, A-Levels, SAT/ACT, AP, WAEC, JAMB, NECO, Common Entrance, IB, IGCSE and other international curricula.
What countries do you operate in?
We serve families across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and wider Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and internationally. Tutors can teach students from any country via online sessions.
For Parents and Students
How does the AI matching work?
You fill in your child's profile with their subjects, year group, learning goals, and preferences. Our algorithm analyses tutor profiles, qualifications, teaching style, availability and reviews to recommend the best matches — ranked by compatibility score.
How do I book a session?
After finding a tutor you like, view their available times, choose a slot, and pay to confirm. You'll receive a booking confirmation with a session link.
Can I try a tutor before committing long-term?
Absolutely. There's no subscription or minimum commitment. Book a single session and see how it goes before booking more.
What if I'm not satisfied with a session?
Contact contact@tutornest.org within 48 hours. We'll review the session and work to make it right, including discussing a refund or a free replacement session.
Are tutors background-checked?
Yes. Every tutor is verified before their profile is published. We check academic credentials, relevant qualifications, and identity. UK-based tutors may also provide a DBS check.
For Tutors
How do I apply to become a tutor?
Click "Become a Tutor" on our website, create your account, and complete your profile. You'll go through a verification process before your profile goes live.
What are the requirements to join?
You must be 18+, hold the qualifications you list, and pass our verification process. You must be legally able to provide services in your country.
How much can I earn?
You set your own hourly rate. TutorNest charges a platform service fee. Your dashboard shows your earnings in real time.
When do I get paid?
Payments are released 3–5 business days after a session is completed and the satisfaction window closes.
Can I teach from anywhere?
Yes. TutorNest supports online sessions via video call. You can teach students from anywhere in the world.
Payments and Pricing
How does pricing work?
Each tutor sets their own hourly rate. There are no hidden fees for parents beyond the session price. Tutors pay a platform service fee from their earnings.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept debit/credit cards and bank transfers. Supported methods vary by region — all major African payment methods (Paystack, Flutterwave), UK cards, and international cards are supported.
What is the refund policy?
Cancellations made 24+ hours before a session receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours receive a 50% refund. No-shows are non-refundable. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and do not store card numbers. Payments are processed by regulated payment providers.
Technical and Account
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?" and enter your email. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes.
Can I have multiple roles (e.g., parent and tutor)?
Yes. TutorNest supports multiple roles under one account. You can switch between parent and tutor views in your dashboard.
What if I have a technical issue?
Email contact@tutornest.org or visit our Help Centre. For urgent issues, describe the problem clearly and include any error messages.
How do I delete my account?
Contact contact@tutornest.org with your request. We'll process account deletions within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
